Sandra Vance, MHA serves as Senior Director, Interoperability Initiatives, at HIMSS.HIMSS is a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology (IT). HIMSS leads efforts to optimize health engagements and care outcomes using information technology. Vance’s division of HIMSS engages Health IT companies in developing and demonstrating standards-based interoperability solutions at HIMSS events around the world and at the HIMSS Innovation Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Convening hundreds of companies in collaborative technical demonstrations Vance serves as both program manager and technical liaison to health IT companies all over the world. Prior to joining HIMSS in 2010, Vance worked as an IT Manager for a large health system in Columbus, Ohio where she developed new processes and provided oversight for technology transitions as physician practices were acquired by the health system. Her experience includes work on all phases of clinical system implementation in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. During her tenure with OhioHealth Ms. Vance was the Senior Analyst leading technical integration of clinical information systems for the opening of one of America’s first paper lite hospitals. Vance’s expertise, in addition to program management, is technology standardization and complex system integration. She holds her Bachelor of Business Administration (cum laude) from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a Master of Health Administration from The Ohio State University. Vance also holds an Information Technology Infrastructure Library certification and is the recipient of the HIMSS Award of Excellence. |
