CALL FOR LETTERS OF INTEREST
The 2012 Innovation Working Group Catalytic Funding Competition:
Advancing Scale-up of Promising mHealth Projects that significantly impact the health and survival of women and children in developing countries
Up to $200,000 for 2 years, 80% of funds available to grantees at the start
Deadline for consideration:  Monday, March 26, 2012

The mHealth Alliance, in partnership with the Innovation Working Group, the UN Secretary-General’s Every Woman Every Child effort and Norad have issued a Call for Letters of Interest for the 2012 Competition for catalytic funding to scale promising mHealth programs to improve maternal-newborn and child health (MNCH) outcomes.

The main purpose of this catalytic funding, which is disbursed over a two-year period, is to support promising mHealth programs with proof of efficacy and sustainable business plans for scale, as well as to strengthen evaluation practices in mHealth for MNCH in developing countries. All projects must aim to contribute to the achievement of Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 (maternal-newborn and child health) and are expected to engage in a Public-Private Partnership. Both the mHealth Alliance and the Innovation Working Group view Public-Private Partnerships as having important potential to spur innovation, develop new business models, improve access to and the quality of health services and offer solutions to priority maternal-newborn and child health (MNCH) challenges.
