4th International Workshop on Software Engineering in Health Care SEHC 2012
http://www.sehc.info/sehc2012.htm
at International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2012)
Zurich, Switzerland, www.icse.2012.org
****************************************************************************
Important Dates
Paper submission deadline: February 17, 2012 Paper acceptance
notification: March, 19 2012 Camera-ready accepted paper deadline:
March 29, 2011
Workshop: June 4 and 5, 2012
Workshop overview
The world faces increasing reliance on software-intensive systems to
manage quality health care services, from scheduling, billing, and
health care records to the control of life-critical devices and
process-guided procedures. Unique challenges and risks arise with the
development, evolution, and integration of health software. The goal
of this fourth workshop is to continue the development of an
interdisciplinary community to identify and address software
engineering challenges in health care applications.
Example Topics for Submission
We solicit submissions in the following, non-exclusive areas:
* Software engineering for clinical, home, and mobile healthcare
systems (subsuming information and communication systems and devices)
* Quality assurance techniques including testing, static/dynamic
analyses, and formal methods in health care systems, processes, and
medical devices
* Security engineering aspects of health care systems
* Middleware and interoperability infrastructure for integration of
medical devices into overall healthcare systems
* Requirements engineering for health care processes and systems
(involving many different stakeholders)
* Model-driven engineering for health care systems and system integration
* Architectures and product line techniques for healthcare systems and
system integration
* Healthcare process definition, analysis, automation, and improvement
* User interface issues in health care systems and processes
* Certification and regulatory issues in medical device and health
care system development
Submissions
With these themes as a starting point, the SEHC 2012 invites broad
participation from people who are actively involved in research and
development in any of the above or related areas. To accommodate for
the participation of researchers involved in projects in different
stages of maturity, we seek a variety of contributions, including
1. short papers (up to 4 pages long) -- short papers include
contributions that may report initial research results that might not
yet be mature enough for a full research paper or may be a position
paper that presents forward looking ideas/concepts.
2. tool descriptions (up to 4 pages long) -- tool papers report on
tools that support one or more aspects of engineering health-related
software systems.
3. clinical case studies (up to 7 pages long) - clinical case studies
report on case studies that involve applying and evaluating software
engineering techniques in a clinical setting.
4. research results papers (up to 7 pages long) -- research papers
describe novel results related to one or more topics of the workshop
The proceedings for the workshop will be included in a printed ICSE
companion volume distributed at the workshop and will be included in
the ACM Digital Library.
