Dear All,

The Biomedical Informatics Laboratory, Heart Institute (InCor), Clinics Hospital, University of Sao Paulo Medical School is seeking staff system administrator to support our efforts in scientific projects involving machine learning in medical healthcare applications. This position will lead the design and integration of High Performance Computing (HPC), including utility systems (server, GPU, network, and storage), performe platform support, user software support, and managing software in order to meet the computational needs of research projects.

Basic Qualifications:
1.    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and with three years of demonstrable experience in system administration;
2.    Leadership experience on technical projects;
3.    Demonstrated ability to perform analytical tasks related to diagnosing operational issues with enterprise level servers, network switches/routers and storage devices within the data center environment;
4.    Knowledge of various protocols (i.e. DNS, SMTP, NFS, FTP, Telnet, SSH, SFTP);
5.    Experience on customizing and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including script writing, system configuration, network configuration and tuning and disk configuration and tuning;

Desired Skills:
1.    Red Hat Open Stack configuration and troubleshooting;
2.    InfiniBand configuration and troubleshooting;
3.    Understanding of GPU NVIDIA installation, optimization and virtualization;
4.    Ability to work with data science teams to understand algorithms that require acceleration to meet operational constraints of either computational time or scale;

The Biomedical Informatics Laboratory, Heart Institute (InCor), Clinics Hospital, University of Sao Paulo Medical School has been involved in research, development and implementation of solutions in Information Technology applied to  the medical field since 1979.  During this period, the group has become a reference center in Brazil in the fields of image and signal processing, and medical information systems. In the last few years, the group has been committed to advancing the analysis and integration of medical information (text data, omics data, images and signals) for targeted, precise disease treatment.
